Get Ready to BINGO with a Twist: NBYT Hosts Drag Queen Event to Raise Funds for Youth Theater

New Britain Youth Theater, a non-profit organization, is organizing and sponsoring a Drag Queen Bingo event on Saturday, May 6th, at South Church's recently renovated Cooper Hall facility. The event aims to raise funds to support NBYT's general operating expenses and rebuild the scholarship fund to serve more young performers in the community.

The event will feature The Imperial Sovereign Court of All CT, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for other non-profits throughout Connecticut, particularly those involved in the LGBTIQ+ community. The performers will entertain the guests between each game of bingo and provide a fun-filled afternoon.

The doors will open at 2:30 PM, and the bingo games will run from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Cash prizes will be awarded for each game, and there will be a Derby Hat Contest for those who wish to participate.

People can purchase tickets in advance by visiting https://nbyt.ludus.com or pay at the door. Those who cannot attend but wish to make a contribution can do so through Paypal, Venmo, or Cashapp.

NBYT hopes to raise enough funds to serve more young performers in the community, including more free performances like their upcoming Midsummer Night's Dream at the New Britain Museum of American Art on June 22nd and 24th. The event will be crucial in helping the organization achieve its long-term goals and plans.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many small non-profit arts organizations, including NBYT, have had a challenging time recovering. Therefore, the success of the Drag Queen Bingo event is crucial for the organization's survival.
